Checkered Placemats

These Picnic worthy (WASHABLE) Basketweave Placemats are just what you need to add some personality to your setup. They work up quickly and are a good use of ay leftover yarn. Change up the colours or add some extra rows in the Double Colour Basketweave Pattern to turn it into a runner. Try it out!

Materials:

Notes:

Placemat measures 14” tall x 19” wide [35.56 cm x 48.26 cm]

Pattern:

With Real Teal, cast on 64 sts.

Work in Garter st (knit every row) for 4in.

Work Double Colour Basketweave Pattern (see below) for 11in.

Work Garter st (knit every row) for 4in. Cast off. Weave in ends.

Double Colour Basketweave Pattern:

Rows 1–5: *With Real Teal K4, switch to White p4; repeat from * to end.

Rows 6–10: *With White P4, switch to Real Teal k4; repeat from * to end.

Iron on low-heat to flatten.
