Crochet Turkey Gobble Gobble

Materials:

Pattern:

Begin by making the weighted pouch that will sit inside the base of the turkey.

Cut 6″ diameter circle from fabric

Knot one end of the thread and stitch around the outside of the circle with a running stitch

Pull thread to cinch up partway, fill with weighted stuffing beads

Cinch up the rest of the way and stitch through the top a few times to secure

Crochet the Body

Begin with a magic ring (mr) and work in the round with brown yarnRound 1: in mr, ch 1, 6 sc (6 sc)Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch (12 sc)Round 3: [1 sc in first stitch, 2 sc in next], repeat around (18 sc)Round 4: [1 sc in first 2 stitches, 2 sc in next], repeat around (24 sc)Round 5: [1 sc in first 3 stitches, 2 sc in next], repeat around (30 sc)Round 6: [1 sc in first 4 stitches, 2 sc in next], repeat around (36 sc)Round 7: 1 sc in each stitch (36 sc)Round 8: [1 sc in first 5 stitches, 2 sc in next], repeat around (42 sc)Rounds 9-13: 1 sc in each stitchRound 14: [1 sc in first 5 stitches, sc2tog], repeat around (36 sc)Round 15: 1 sc in each stitch (36 sc)Round 16: [1 sc in first 4 stitches, sc2tog], repeat around (30 sc)Round 17: 1 sc in each stitch (30 sc)*add weighted pouch to bottom of the bodyRound 18: [1 sc in first 3 stitches, sc2tog], repeat around (24 sc)Round 19: 1 sc in each stitch (24 sc)*begin stuffing the body and continue stuffing as you work the last couple of rowsRound 20: [1 sc in first 2 stitches, sc2tog], repeat around (18 sc)Round 21: [1 sc in first stitch, sc2tog], repeat around (12 sc)Round 22: sc2tog, repeat around (6 sc)Finish off, tuck yarn end inside of the body

Crochet the head

begin with a magic ring (mr)

Crochet the Wings:

begin with a magic ring (mr)

Make 2- with brown yarnRow 1: in mr, ch 1, 5 sc (5 sc)Row 2: ch1, turn, sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, sc (2 sc, 4 hdc, 2 dc)Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc, sc, 2 hdc, 2dc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, sc, sc (4 sc, 4 hdc, 4 dc)Finish off, cut yarn leaving long end for sewingSew wings to the sides of the body

Crochet the Beak and Wattle:

Beakwith goldch 4, starting in the 2nd ch from hook dc3togFinish off, cut yarn leaving long end for sewing

Wattlewith redch 5, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, slip stitch in last 2Finish off, cut yarn leaving end for sewing

Sew the beak and wattle to the head just below eyes

Feet:

Make 2- with gold yarn starting from the toes and working up the legs -Ch3Row 1: [ch3, dc in first ch, ch 1, slip stitch in first ch] repeat 2 more times Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in the top of each toe, ch 3*this row you will begin working in the round by working in the sc across the front and the ch across the backRow 3: 1 sc in each of the 3 sc across front of foot, 3 sc in ch (6 sc)Row 4-9: 1 sc in each stitch (6 sc)Finish off, cut yarn leaving ends for sewingSew the legs to the bottom front of the body

Feathers:
