Here is a quick Cloud Embellishment pattern to spruce up any of your cloud-needing projects! Perfect for beginners and to use up some scrap yarn.
Pattern Notes:
These are super quick 2 round patterns that are a breeze to work up. We used these in our St Patrick’s Day Pot o Gold Rainbow pattern, more info on this below.
Measurements:
Small: 2in tall, 4in wide
Large: 3in tall, 5in wide
Materials:
- RedHeart Super Saver in White
- 6.0mm crochet hook
- Tapestry Needle
Gauge:
Crochet: 12sc and 15 rows = 4in
Abbreviations:
Ch: Chain
SC: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
TR: Treble Crochet
Sk: Skip
SLST: Slip stitch

Pattern:
Small:
Round 1: Ch 8, 3 SC in 2nd ch from hook, SC in next 5 ch, 3 SC in last ch (the beginning of the ch). Continue to the opposite side of chain: SC in next 5 ch, slst to join in first st (16 sc).
Round 2: Ch 1, SC in same st, 7 dc in next st, sk 1 st, slst in next st, 5 DC in next st, sk 1 st, slst in next st, sk 1 st, 7 dc in next st, sk 1 st, sl st, (HDC, 3 dc, HDC) all in next st, sk 1 st, slst, sk 1 st, (HDC, 3 dc, HDC), sk 1 st, slst to base of first 7 DC from beg. Bind off.
Large:
Round 1: Ch 12, HDC in 2nd ch from hook, HDC in next 9 ch, 6 HDC in last ch (the beginning of the ch). Continue to the opposite side of chain: hdc in next 9 chs, 5 HDC in last st (back to the beginning) slst to join in first st (30 sc).
Round 2: Ch 2, 4 dc in first st where the slst was placed from prior round, sk 1 st, slst, sk 2, 7 TR in next st, sk 2, slst, sk1, 5dc in next st, sk 1, slst, sk 2, 7 TR in next st, sk 2, slst, sk 1, 5dc in next st, sk 1, slst, sk 2 st, 7 TR in next st, sk 2, slst. Bind off.
