Ribbed Beanie Pattern
- U.S. size 9.00mm hook
- 2 skeins bulky weight yarn *1 skein for toddler size* (160-180yards) (I used Lionbrand Medium weight and doubled up on the strands)
Pattern Notes:
Adult- unstretched & before brim is folded up 9″w x 12″h
At the beginning of each row the pattern reads (BLO) or (FLO). Work the entire row in the indicated loop.
The front loop is always the loop closest to you & the back loop the furthest from you. Regardless if you are working the right side or wrong side of the hat.
Abbreviations:
BLO = back loop only
FLO= front loop only
sl st = slip stitchYO = yarn over
ch= chain
sts= stitches
Pattern:
Adult
ch 38
row 1. sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each ch across. turn (37sts)row 2. ch 1, (BLO) sl st in each st across, turn (37sts)row 3. ch 1 (FLO) sl st in each st across. turn (37sts)
row 4-57 repeat rows 2 & 3
Finishing:1. Fold the rectangle in half, sl st together to form a tube. Cut yarn leaving a long tail.2. Weave tail through ends of rows along top of the rectangle. Pull tight to close up the top of the hat.3. Fold up (or sew) brim of the hat.
Toddler:
ch 30
row 1. sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each ch across. turn (29sts)row 2. ch 1, (BLO) sl st in each st across, turn (29sts)row 3. ch 1 (FLO) sl st in each st across. turn (29sts)
row 4-53 repeat rows 2 & 3
