If you’re looking for a quick yet stunning baby blanket, make this one! This is also the perfect pattern if you’re a beginner crocheter because this uses a simple 2-stitch repeat. We are using the Crochet Seed Stitch that adds a wonderful texture. Plus, you can easily modify this for a larger blanket.
Here is how you work it up –
Pattern Notes:
This pattern uses the crochet Seed Stitch. You can change the gauge of this pattern by using a any yarn (you will need to follow the recommended hook size and measurements on yarn package).You can increase the size of this blanket by increasing in multiples of 2 stitches.
Materials:
- 4.5mm (UK 8 – US G6) crochet hook
- 3 balls Bermat Softee Baby in Antique White
- 3 balls of contrast Bernat Softee Baby in Marl (I had an older version in Green)
Gauge:
- 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) 16 sc x 19 rows with 4 mm crochet hook
Finished measurements:

SC = Single crochet
DC = Double crochet

Pattern:
With contrast colour, to start, ch 141
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, *dc, sc. Repeat from * to end (139)
Row 2: Ch2, dc in prior row sc, *sc, dc. Repeat from * to end (139)
Row 3: Ch2, sc in prior row dc, *dc, sc. Repeat from * to end (139)
The pattern will repeat row 2 & 3 changing colours every 6.5in.
