Here is a different take on a Valentine’s day classic – a Heart Plushy! These are worked up as two separate panels and then single stitched together. I used a chunky yarn to really make the stitches in this pattern pop. I made one for my little guy since he’ll be celebrating being MY valentine for the first time *swoon*! Check out the knit and crochet patterns below and make the one that speaks to you!

Pattern Notes:

Both of these patterns are worked from one side to the other (vs from the top or bottom). You’ll make two identical panels and single crochet them together and stuff with polyfil.

Assembly:

The cleanest way to assemble these is to single crochet the two sides together. This method provides a finishing edge that favours the “right side” of the plushy. The pictures are shown with this method for both the knit and crochet pockets.

To do this, with right side facing, start at the center of the top left side of the heart. SC evenly along the edge to the center of the right side, fill with polyfil when you are 3/4 of the way through, continue to end. Bind off and weave in ends.

If you are knitting, you can simply sew the two panels together, taking the time to stuff with polyfil before you complete.

Enjoy!
