This Autumn Falling Leaves pattern is one of my favourites because it’s so wonderfully adaptable β€” make it as a table runner, widen it into a throw, slim it down to a scarf, or turn it into a cosy pillow sham. One pattern, endless possibilities. It’s a simple 7-row repeat using Red Heart Super Saver in the most gorgeous autumn palette β€” gold, carrot, burgundy, and coffee. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to block this pattern?

Depending on the yarn you use, light blocking may help the panels lie flat and even out. Red Heart Super Saver generally doesn’t require blocking but if your panels are curling slightly, a light wet block will fix it beautifully.

Can I use a different yarn?

Yes β€” any worsted weight #4 yarn will work. Red Heart Super Saver is the recommended yarn for this pattern as it gives crisp stitch definition and comes in the perfect autumn colours. If you substitute, work a gauge swatch first to make sure your panel measurements are consistent.

How do I make it longer or wider?

To make it longer, simply continue the 7-row repeat until you reach your desired length. To make it wider, add additional panels β€” each panel is approximately 5″ wide. You can also widen within a single panel by adjusting in multiples of 23+8 stitches.

Is this pattern suitable for beginners?

Yes β€” if you’re comfortable with single crochet and double crochet you can make this pattern. The 7-row repeat becomes very rhythmic quickly and most makers find they can work it without referring to the pattern after the first few repeats.

Can I sell items made from this pattern?

Yes β€” you’re welcome to sell finished items made from this pattern. Please credit SeeLoveShare as the designer.
