Free Crochet Candy Corn Pattern — Halloween Garland
This free crochet candy corn pattern is one of my favorite Halloween makes — the mini candy corns work up in about 15 minutes each, they’re beginner-friendly, and they look absolutely adorable strung up as a garland across your mantel, doorway, or Halloween wreath. The classic tri-color look (yellow, orange, white) captures that nostalgic candy corn charm without any of the sugar.

The free crochet candy corn pattern is worked in rounds starting at the bottom, with two color changes to create that signature candy corn stripe. If you can single crochet and change colors, you can make these. Each little candy corn plumps up with a bit of polyfil and stands up beautifully on its own — perfect for garlands, wreaths, bowl fillers, and party favors.

Garland Assembly
Make 6–8 candy corn, depending on how long you want your garland. With twine and a tapestry needle, weave through the top of each candy corn, leaving about 6 in of slack between them. Hang and enjoy! A finished garland is the most popular way to use this crochet candy corn pattern.
Tips
A few small things make this crochet candy corn pattern come out crisp and tidy:
- For the cleanest color change, swap colors on the final yarn-over of the last stitch before the new round.
- Work your stitches firmly so the polyfil doesn’t show through.
- Stuff a little at a time so each candy corn keeps its plump, upright shape.

How long does each candy corn take?
About 15 minutes once you’re comfortable with the rounds — this crochet candy corn pattern is quick enough to make a whole garland in an afternoon.
What yarn should I use?
Any #4 worsted-weight yarn works. I used Red Heart Super Saver in Cornmeal, Carrot, and Aran for that classic candy corn look.
Do they stand up on their own?
Yes — once stuffed with polyfil, each candy corn holds its shape and stands upright, so they look great in a bowl or strung into a garland.
Can I sell what I make?
You’re welcome to sell finished items you make from this crochet candy corn pattern. The pattern itself is for personal use and can’t be shared or resold.
