Tricky tricky! Doesn’t this look so so complicated to make?? You’re going to love this simple “twist & pull” trick to give you that labor-intensive cable look. When it comes down to it, it’s just fun to make! Folks will think you spent hours on it and you’ll love to show it off. Let’s just keep our little trick to ourselves!! It’s super handy and I’m sure you’ll find many other places to use this cable hack!
This pattern is made to fit a 24in pillow.
- 2 skeins of Bernat Blanket Yarn (but any bulky weight yarn will work as long as you take note of the gauge below)
- Crochet hook size L (8.00mm)
- 24in pillow
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each of next 3 ch. (Sl st in each of next 10 ch. 1 sc in each of next 6 ch) three times. Sl st in each of next 10 ch. 1 sc in each of last 4 ch. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of rst 4 sc. (Ch 10. Skip next 10 sl st. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc) three times. Ch 10. Skip next 10 sl st. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Turn.
3rd row: Ch1.1 sc in each of rst 4 sc. (Sl st in each of next 10 ch. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc) twice. Sl st in each of next 10 ch. 1 sc in each of last 4 sc. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows until work from beg measures 48″, ending on a 3rd row.
With RS facing, twist 1st horizontal bar at foundation row to form loop. Draw 2nd horizontal bar through 1st bar without twisting. Rep, drawing next bar through previous bar without twisting until all bars have been worked. Sew last loop to second last loop to secure.
