Crochet Easter Egg Basket
Materials:
- RedHeart Baby Hugs DK yarn in any pastel colour. (It also works well with RedHeart Super Saver yarn, they’ll just come out a bit larger)
- 4mm/size 6 crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Choice of ribbon
Abbreviations:
Ch = chain
Sl st = slip stitch
Dc = double crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Sts – stitches
**Note** You will be working in joined rounds. Begin each round with a ch 2 (not counted as a stitch) and ending each round with a sl st to top of ch 2.
Pattern:
Start with a magic ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 12 dc in magic ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (12 sts)Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (24 sts)Rnds 3 – 5: Ch 2, 1 dc in each st around. Join with a sl st to top of ch 2. (24 sts). Do not fasten off.
At the end of Rnd 5, ch 21. Skip 1st ch from hook and work 1 hdc in next 20 ch sts. Sl st to 1st dc from Rnd 5. Fasten off and tuck in all loose ends.
Stitch other end of handle directly across the opposite end of the basket.
Attach ribbon on either (or both) sides of handle.
Stuff with as many candies and chocolates as possible!
