This is a quick, neutral, modern, heirloom quality blanket made with very durable yarn. The blanket features a woven look and a color scheme that go with any home décor and simple stripes. It’s perfect for snuggling up by the fire or as an extra layer during the cooler days outdoors.

Abbreviations:

CH – chain

SC – single crochet

SK ST – skip stitch

MC – Main Color

CC – Contrast Color

Size:

Approximately 37” wide X 51” long. To make the blanket longer or shorter, simply increase the number of chains in your initial chain, keeping an odd stitch count and follow the pattern. You can add rows or repeat sections from the center to make the blanket longer.

Gauge:

Approximately 3 1/3 stitches per inch and just over 2 1/2 rows per inch

Materials:

· 3-4 skeins of Bernat Blanket Big Ball Yarn for MC (I used Vintage White)

· 1 skein of Bernat Blanket Big Bal Yarn for CC (I used Silver Steel)

o or any other super bulky weight (#6) that provides the same gauge. Bernat has a number of different colors and they’re all machine washable.

· US Size J 6.0 mm crochet hook

· Scissors

· Tapestry needle to weave in ends

Pattern:

· CH 121

· Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from hook, *CH 1, SK ST, SC in next stitch. Repeat from * across, SC in last stitch. CH 1, turn.

· Row 2 – 6: Repeat row 1 (You will SC into first SC of row, *CH1, SK ST, SC in next stitch and repeat from * across. CH 1, turn. You will be placing the single crochet stitches into the chain stitch below. Change to CC

· Row 7: SC in 2nd ST from hook, SC in last stitch. CH 1, turn.

· Row 8 – 9 Repeat row 7

· Change to MC

· Row 10 – 11 Repeat row 1

· Row 12 Change to CC, repeat row 1

· Row 13 – 17 Change to MC, repeat row 1

· Row 18 Change to CC, repeat row 1

· Row 19 – 23 Change to MC, repeat row 1

· Row 24 Change to CC, repeat row 1

· Row 25 – 26 Change to MC, repeat row 1

· Row 27 – 29 Change to CC, repeat row 7

· Row 30 – 47 Change to MC, repeat row 1 (18 rows)
