Baby’s O’Go Stroller Blanket – Free Crochet Pattern

Yes please! We found a new fun way to work up a classic. Yarnspirations has developed a new yarn that takes all the hair pulling tangle out of the equation! Mix that with a super simple stroller blanket and you have a project that will be ready in no time! Here is everything you need to know!
O’Go Yarn: Simple but Genius!
Measurements:
Stroller Blanket Standard Size: 30in x 35in.
This pattern can be easily modified as noted throughout the pattern
Materials:
- 3 rings of O’Go Caron Colorama in Salt And Pep (Bulky, #5) – I snagged mine from Joann and they have loads more colors to choose from
- 7.0 mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry needle
Gauge:
4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) 9 sc x 10 rows with 7 mm crochet hook
Abbreviations:
Ch: Chain
Sc: Single Crochet
Dd: Double Crochet
Slst : Slip Stitch
St : Stitch
Sc2tog: Single Crochet two together
Sc3tog: Single Crochet three together
Pattern:
To begin, chain 4, join with a slst to the first st.
Row 1: Ch 2, 5 dc within loop you just created. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: (DC, SC) in first DC, DC in next DC, (SC, DC, ch-2, DC, SC) all within next DC)., DC in next st, (SC, DC) in last st. Ch 2, turn.
Row 3: (DC, SC) in first DC, work seed st (alternating between DC in SC from prior round and SC in DC from prior round) to ch-2 sp. (DC, SC, ch-2, SC, DC – this should continue the seed st pattern while adding stitches to the center) all within ch-2 sp, work seed st to last st, (SC, DC) in final st. Ch 2 turn.
Row 4: (DC, SC) in first DC, work seed st to ch-2 sp (SC, DC, Ch -2, DC, SC – this should continue the seed st pattern while adding stitches in the center) all within ch-2 sp, work seed st to last st, (SC, DC) in final st, Ch 2. Turn.
Repeat Rows 3-4 until you achieve the desired width.
For a stroller blanket, width should be ~30in. Move on to Body.
Body:
Row 1: Sc3tog, continue in seed st pattern to ch-2 sp (SC, DC, Ch -2, DC, SC – this should continue the seed st pattern while adding stitches in the center) all within ch-2 sp, work seed st to last 3 sts, sc3tog. Ch 1. Turn.
Repeat Row 1 until the total length of the work is ~35in or your desired length.
Begin to taper work:
Row 1: Sc3tog, continue in seed st pattern to the stitch before ch-2 sp, Sc2together (the last stitch and inside the ch2 sp). Bind off. Continue to other side of work. Attach yarn with a slst into the ch-2 sp you just bound off in. Sc2together (inside the ch2 sp and the next st), continue in seed st pattern to the last 3 sts, sc3tog. Ch 1 Turn.
Row 2: Sc3tog, continue in seed st pattern to the last 2 sts, sc2tog, bind off. Continue over to other side. Attach yarn with a slst to the last st where you had bound off in the prior round. Sc2tog, continue in seed st pattern to the last 3 sts, sc3tog. Ch 1 Turn.
Repeat Row 2 until 2 sts remain. Sc2tog, bind off. Repeat on other side.
