Bobble Stitch Christmas Tree Skirt – Crochet Pattern
UPDATE January 2025:
I hope that you’re enjoying your current knitting projects. It has been such a pleasure sharing my patterns with you and seeing your creativity bring them to life.
After much thought, I have made the difficult decision to no longer offer my patterns for free. This was not an easy choice—designing and sharing these patterns has always been a passion of mine and a way to connect with this amazing community.
However, the time, effort, and resources required to create, test, and perfect each pattern are significant. To continue bringing you high-quality, unique designs and to support the sustainability of my work, I will now be offering my patterns for purchase on Etsy.
I am incredibly grateful for your support over the years. Your kind words, encouragement, and enthusiasm mean so much to me. I hope you’ll continue to enjoy my patterns and support this new chapter.
Please visit my Etsy shop HERE to view and purchase my collection.
Thank you for your understanding and for being an integral part of this journey.
Please consider purchasing this downloadable & printable version from my Etsy Shop.
Thank you,
Ashleigh
This pattern is a Christmas showstopper! We will walk you through every row with individual instructions, so Beginners need not be afraid! Each row will either increase stitches, work flat (as prior round), include bobbles or some combination of both. Each row will summarize what we will achieve in that row so the pattern is a lot easier to read and follow. Bobble stitches are always a fun and festive addition to holiday patterns, so I hope you enjoy working this up as much as we did!
Pattern Notes:
This pattern is worked from side to side (not in round) and by always holding two strands of the main colour together. It is best if you have two balls of yarn going at the same time instead of pulling from the inside and outside of the ball. This pattern is a bit of a yarn eater but it is totally worth it.
Measurements:
Approx. 37in diameter
Materials:
- Main Colour: 4 7oz Balls of #4 Medium Weight: I used Red Heart With Love in Holly Berry
- Contrast Colour: 1 Ball 10.5oz of #6 Super Bulky: I used Bernat Blanket Yarn in White (as pictured) additionally I have made this pattern using Red Heart Super Saver Metallics in white (and working 2 strands at a time). Both looked amazing!

Bobble St: Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through (three loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops. Repeat the previous step four more times so that you have five not-quite-complete dc stitches worked into the same stitch. There will be six loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all six loops. This closes your bobble crochet stitch.
