These Little Ones are a super versatile addition to your Holiday Decor! Change the gauge to change the application. I worked these up using #3/Light yarn and they turned into the perfect ornament size. I used these guys to top my Gingerbread garland but the options are endless! Pattern Notes:

These hats are worked in rounds from the top/point of the hat down to the brim. 

Measurements:

Approx. 5in tall, 3in wide.

Materials:

  • #3 Light Yarn for hat in Red. I used Bernat Softee Baby Cotton in Red
  • #5 bulky and fluffy yarn for trim. I used Bernat Pipsqueak in White
  • 4.0 mm (U.S. G/6) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle 

Gauge:

4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) 16 sts and 20 rows with a 4.0 mm crochet hook

Abbreviations:

Ch: Chain

Sc: Single crochet

St: stitch

Sc2tog: Single Crochet two sts together

Slst: Slip stitch

Pattern:

Hat:

With Red, ch2

Round 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sts)

Rnd 2 -3: 1 sc in each st around

Rnd 4: (1 sc, 2 sc in next st) repeat within () 3 times (9 sts)

Rnd 5-6: 1 sc in each st around

Rnd 7: (2 sc, 2 sc in next st) repeat within () 3 times (12 sts)

Rnd 8-9: 1 sc in each st around

Rnd 10: (3 sc, 2 sc in next st) repeat within () 3 times (15 sts)

Rnd 11-12: 1 sc in each st around

Rnd 13: (4 sc, 2 sc in next st) repeat within () 3 times (18 sts)

Rnd 14-15: 1 sc in each st around. Switch to White before completing final st of round 15. 

Rnd 16-18: 1 sc in each st around. Bind off, weave in ends. 

Make bobble for top of Santa Hat:

With White, ch 2

Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd st from hook (6 sts)

Rnd 2: sc2tog 3 times (3 sts)

Rnd 3: sc3tog & bind off. Attach to the top of the Santa Hat.
