Materials & supplies

All 10 patterns share the same materials, which makes building the full collection straightforward and yarn-efficient. Here’s what you’ll need:

Just dabbling? One ball each of the cookie + frosting yarn will make about 4 ornaments — plenty for a starter set.

About the construction

Every ornament in the collection follows the same satisfying construction approach:

  • Two cookie panels are crocheted in light brown and slip-stitched together — this creates the chunky double-thick “real cookie” feel and prevents curling
  • A single frosting layer is crocheted in white and sewn to the front of the cookie, leaving an even cookie border visible all the way around
  • Each ornament finishes around 3″ tall, perfect for hanging on a tree or stringing into a garland
  • Skill level: Intermediate — you’ll need to be comfortable with chains, hdc, sc, dc, and slip stitch (a few patterns also use treble or picot stitches)

Tips for building the full set

  • Start with a free pattern first — make a Tree or Snowflake to get a feel for the construction style before committing to the full bundle
  • Batch the cookies — make all 10 cookie panels (20 total) in one sitting, then move on to frosting layers, then assembly. Production-line crocheting is faster and more enjoyable
  • Mix & match colors — try a deeper brown for “gingerbread” cookies, or all-cream for a monochrome modern look
  • Add embellishments — tiny seed beads make perfect “sprinkles” on the frosting layer for extra detail
  • Make a garland — string 8–10 finished ornaments together with twine or ribbon for a coordinated mantel display
  • Stiffen for shape — for crisper finished ornaments, lightly spritz with fabric stiffener and let dry flat
