Spotlight Stitch: Puff Spike

This is a fun stitch to throw in every once and a while. I am currently using it to add a pop of texture and dimension to my current #WIP and it is really bringing the piece to life. Comment below and let me know what you think!

Here is how it works:

Stitch Notes: For this stitch to look its best it must sit on top of 3 rows of SC in a different colour.

Pattern:

This stitch is a 4 row repeat:

Row 1-3: With Color A, SC. Switch to Color B on last row

Row 4: Sc in first 4 sts, *work Puff Spike (details below), sc in next 4 sts* repeat from * to end

Puff Spike Stitch:

Insert your hook below the 1st sc from 2 rows below – working beneath the previous st. Yarn over, draw up a loop (2 loops on hook). Insert your hook below the 2nd/centre sc from 3 rows below – working beneath the current st. Yarn over, draw up a loop (3 loops on hook). Insert your hook below the 3rd sc from 2 rows below – working beneath the next st. Yarn over, draw up a loop (4 loops on hook). Yarn over, pull through all 4 loops on hook.
