Celebrate the holiday season with a touch of sweetness and whimsy with our Winter Candy Cane Sugar Cookie Ornament Pattern. Inspired by the delightful combination of candy canes and sugar cookies, this crochet pattern allows you to create charming candy cane ornaments that capture the magic of winter. Whether you’re an experienced crocheter or just starting out, our pattern is designed to bring a touch of homemade charm to your holiday and winter decor.

Each piece is approx. 4in tall.
- 1 Ball 120 g / 4.2 oz, 254 meters / 232 yards of #3 Medium yarn of each – this will make approx. 4 cookies, double if making the entire set.
- Cookie: Light brown
- Icing: white/off-white
- As photographed – Bernat Softee Baby Cotton in Sand (cookie) and Cotton (frosting)
- Size 4.0 mm (U.S. G/6)
- Tapestry needle
- Crochet Gauge: 16 sc and 20 rows with a 4.0 mm (U.S. G/6) crochet hook
Cookie: make 2
With light brown:
To start, ch 5
Row 1: hdc in 2nd ch from hook to end, ch 1, turn (4 hdc)
Row 2-8: hdc in each st across, ch 1, turn
Row 9: sl st in first st, hdc in next st, dc in each of the final 2 sts, ch 3, turn
Row 10: dc in each of the first 2 sts, hdc in next, slst in final st, ch 1, turn
Repeat rows 9 & 10 4 more times. Do not bind off.
Begin Edging: continue along the side edge of candy cane, evenly placing sc along, approximately 1 sc for every row along the side edges, place 2 sc for every row over candy cane arch and 1 sc every 2 rows on inside of arch to avoid bunching.
To start, ch 22
Row 1: hdc in 2nd ch from hook to last 6 sts, *hdc, 2hdc in next st*, repeat within ** to end.
Row 2: *hdc, 2 hdc in next st*, repeat within ** 4 more times, hdc to end.
Bind off, leaving a long tail to attach to cookie.
Stack both cookies, align corners and sides. Starting at any corner, slst in BLO through BOTH cookies, continue with slst in blo in all sts in edging around. Bind off, weave in ends. Center frosting on the cookie, you should be able to see an even border of the cookie all the way around the frosting. Sew frosting to cookie with tapestry needle.
Bind off, weave in all ends and ENJOY!
